The Writing Prompt Challenge
The deeper I sink my teeth into my blog, the more I realize how much fun it is. I love seeing all of the views and keeping all of you up to date with my thoughts. I've always been an artist, but I never knew how much I would enjoy writing (if you're new to my blog...welcome!) I'm going to post the pictures that I've found of the prompts so that you can participate as well!
Side Note/Update:
Please bear with me ...as I get settled in my new schedule (work>family/home>work>bowling>school) my posts might be delayed.
Also, if you are an #instagram fan please note that I will be working on a few upcoming videos. (spoiler alert: A couple "how to" videos, an unboxing, and a "haul" of some type. Keep checking back.
My goal is to have a contest come
With that being said, let's get into the blog. The prompt I chose is a "leader" that inspires me. Enjoy! :)
The leader that I chose to write about today is JK Rowling. Now, some of you might be thinking JK Rowling is an author (?!) and not a leader but her story is one that I find very inspirational. Pre Harry and his wizard friends, JK Rowling was a newly divorced woman living on government aide. She could barely afford to feed her baby. When she wrote her first book "Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone", she couldn't afford a computer or the cost of photocopies. So, she typed it out manually. This was no small task as the book contains 90,000 words. She faced dozens of rejection letters, but she never gave up. She believed in her dream. Bloomsbury picked up the book after looking at a second time. His daughter loved the book, and that's what made him decide to publish it.
You can find many more inspiring facts about JK sprawled across the web. The reason why I chose JK is I find her very relatable. She came from nothing to create an empire. Her Harry Potty success is well known.
I admire anyone who is never willing to quit. Drive and passion are the heart beat of life. Everyone has goals, and those goals can only be achieved through hard work and dedication. Your belief in yourself is important as well. If you don't believe in your mission, no one else will. Confidence is the main key to success. When you feel yourself migrating away from your goal, do some self reassessing. You might need to vent out your pent up frustration. It's also just as important to have someone to share your success with.
Being a mom has changed me as a person. I respect mothers like JK a little more now than I ever have. Over the past year, my daughter has absolutely played a huge role in my motivation. Every time, I look at her I want to set a good example. Like any parent, I want Hannah to have the world. I want to give her financial stability, but I want her also to believe in your dreams. I'd love for her to see my accomplishments and understand that she can do or have anything as long as she puts in the work.
JK Rowling put her child's needs above anyone else. She kept grinding it out and made her way to success. Children change your life in many aspects. I believe the moment the "little blue plus sign" appears you are a second priority. In my life, Hannah comes before anyone. Seeing her happy and healthy means everything to me. Hannah not only changed me, but she saved my life. She is one of the main reasons I went to art school, created this blog, and everything else I've been working on. She pushes me to be the best that I can be.
In conclusion, I feel it's very important to have a leader to look up to. It can be anyone that you aspire to be like. It can be someone that has been through similar situations as you but prevailed. For me, JK Rowling has many of these attributes. She's a creative family woman with a motivated soul. She inspires me to keep going. I will do my best to maintain my focus and achieve my goals. Inspirations like Rowling make be believe in the battle.
I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes, I hope it inspires you to do something great today, or tomorrow.
